POV–FS Xmas Drinks

I’ve toyed with the idea of trying to put on a Christmas drinks meet up for footy fans in the Toronto area. A chance to get together, have a drink or two, watch a few matches, and talk; to meet new people and chat with old ones.

It’s incredibly short notice, but Wednesday the 21st is looking like a possible date. There will be ten hours – back-to-back - of EPL and it’s far enough away from the holidays that it will not interrupt any family time.

There is a very good chance this will amount to me sitting by myself in the bar, watching several matches, but with that possibility considered I thought I’d reach out and see if anyone was interested in joining me.

Location is yet to be determined – though I have a few in mind. Were I thinking I would have brought back some cool door-prizes from my trip across the pond but I didn’t, so I’ll see if I can work something out; if not possible this time then definitely for the next – as if successful this could be annual or biannual.

Please spread the word, get in touch – via email, twitter or leave a comment; let me know if you’d be interested in coming out for a drink on Wednesday, December 21st, starting in the afternoon or perhaps a bit later – Man City v Stoke kicks off at 2:40 pm; matches straight until after midnight - somewhere in the middle of Toronto.

  1. Sounds like a great idea. We did a twitter gathering at a CCL match last season - was cool to put faces to names etc. and get to know folk. Besides, what's not to like about a day of footy, talk & beer? :)
