POV-FS Mail It in Friday Video – Alexi Lalas on Fantasy Football League’s Phoenix from the Flames
Reviving a lost feature – our dive into the glory that is YouTube for random clips from the footballing world.
As I drifted off to sleep late last night, watching some old Fantasy Footbal League, I stumbled across this gem – Alexi Lalas recreating his goal against England from 9 June, 1993; the US went on to win the match 2-0.
It was the USA Cup, a now-defunct invitational tournament hosted by the USSF (United States Soccer Federation).
The hair, the goatee, brings me back to USA'94; a pivotal moment in my football fandom. Enjoy.

Can We Play You Every Week? Canada vs. the USA – A Burgeoning Rivalry
On the eve of another friendly between the Canadians and their neighbours to the south, the Americans, it seems the perfect time to ponder why these two countries do not make use of their proximity more often.

Beyond POV-FS – TSG’s USA vs. Canada Preview: Klinsmann On Border Patrol at The Shin Guardian
A small contribution to The Shin Guardian’s preview of tomorrow’s match between the USA and Canada in Houston, Texas went live earlier this morning.
In it an estimation of the scope of the project that faces the Canadian program, a look at the squad available, notes from the match against Denmark, and of course, a ton of information on their opponents, the Americans, courtesy of the fine folks at TSG.
Check it out and see what rests in store for the Canadians against an MLS-heavy camp cupcake American side.

Perspective - Luck of the Draw
Considering all the Jabulani’s* that have been launched Canada’s way in qualifying campaigns there could not have been a better draw for the 2014 qualifying cycle.

Thoughts? – Why Canada Should Continue to Watch the Gold Cup
The Quarterfinal round has finished. Eight teams took to the field, four move on. Canada was depressingly sent home after the group phase, relegated by that last minute equalizer that drew the match level and allowed El Salvador to sneak in at the Reds expense.
The USA, Mexico, Honduras, and Panama move on to the Semifinals; Jamaica, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and El Salvador go home. Aside from the action, the theatrics and the drama of the matches, what reason is there for Canada and their fans to continue to watch the tournament?

Thoughts? - Wenger, Wilshere & England
Arsène Wenger’s decision to pressure the England set-up into not calling Jack Wilshere to the UEFA U-21 European Championship – kicking off today in Denmark today – is just the latest in an ongoing battle between Club and Country.
